Growing up in a Zapotec culture defined, in part, by its unique traditional songs and dances, I’m a lifelong devotee of music in all its forms. 

As I continue my journey in higher education by working towards my Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, I’m eager to actualize this passion by following a career path in the music and live entertainment industry within the areas of digital marketing, content strategy and public relations.

Outside of the classroom, I supplement my learnings with hands-on experience through my roles as a freelance photographer, digital content producer, and music journalist. 

Prior to returning to the classroom this semester, I spent the entirety of my undergraduate studies working within the nonprofit sector on issues of intersectional environmentalism and youth empowerment. This previous professional experience has provided me with a rich background in project coordination, program design, team management and narrative storytelling for social impact. Beyond this, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability from Arizona State University in May of 2023, graduating summa cum laude.
